The presentation, “Anatomy of Paying the Ransom,” will take place on Thursday, January 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

This interactive session includes an overview of how to respond when a company is the victim of a ransomware attack. The talk will discuss how to deal with hackers ransoming valuable company information. Attendees will learn how hackers respond when companies choose to comply with demands or refuse to pay. Weber will also discuss how companies obtain cryptocurrency, what delays are to be expected, and if companies can expect to see their customers’ compromised data again.

In his session, Weber will discuss the options companies have dealing with ransomware attacks, based on Coalfire’s experience helping clients navigate this growing threat.

Weber has 20 years of experience in senior security positions in various technical fields, including enterprise security planning, network engineering, vulnerability and risk assessment, penetration testing, system administration and programming.
