Coalfire® Partners With First Lady’s Joining Forces Initiative

May 5, 2016

A 5-year pledge to hire or train veterans and military spouses CEO Larry Jones to participate in pledge announcement at The White House

Westminster, Colo.May 05, 2016 Coalfire, a leader in cybersecurity risk management and compliance services, today announced it will partner with Joining Forces – an initiative of First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden – while entering into a five-year pledge to hire and train service veterans and military spouses. Additionally, Coalfire CEO Larry Jones joined with other key leaders of the national business community at The White House on May 5, for a pledge announcement to be led by the First Lady and Dr. Biden.

As part of its pledge, Coalfire will devote an increasing percentage of its total hires to veterans and their spouses during the next five years (escalating to 10 percent in year five), as well as creating training initiatives to assist in the development of their careers. As a leader in the cybersecurity industry, which is predicted to have a talent gap of 1.5 million unfilled jobs, Coalfire has an aggressive plan to more than double its current headcount during the next five years.

“There is no better way to honor our veterans and their families than to provide them with employment opportunities once their service to our country has completed,” Jones said. “Since its inception, Coalfire has actively recruited and employed veterans. One of our co-founders was a graduate from the United States Military Academy at West Point, so it’s intrinsic to our principle beliefs to look for that kind of person to help build our organization. Besides the obvious skills they bring such as discipline, veterans demonstrate the tenets of confidence, teamwork and integrity – all qualifications that are crucial to a growing company like Coalfire. We welcome veterans and their spouses and will provide them the support they deserve.”

Joining Forces was created by the First Lady and Dr. Biden in 2011, as a nationwide initiative calling on Americans to rally around service members, veterans and their families to support them through wellness, education and employment opportunities. Joining Forces works hand in hand with the public and private sectors to ensure that returning veterans and their families have the tools they need to succeed throughout their lives.
