Coalfire announces that co-founder and CEO Rick Dakin has passed away

June 22, 2015 - We are deeply saddened to announce that our co-founder and CEO Rick Dakin passed away suddenly over the weekend while hiking with family and friends near Colorado Springs.  We are all shocked and our thoughts go out to the Dakin family.

Rick was an inspirational leader and will be greatly missed.  We will continue to be galvanized by Rick's vision, which is incorporated into the very fabric of Coalfire's DNA.  His greatest love was for his family. Our sympathy goes out to them and to all who were touched by this extraordinary man.

Effective immediately, Larry Jones will become CEO.  Given Larry's strong CEO experience and his active role as Board Chairman over the past three years, the board has asked him to become CEO and proceed with the strategy and operating plans that are already in place.

Jones, co-founders Kennet Westby and Alan Ferguson, will work with the rest of the Coalfire team to carry his vision forward as if he were standing by our side.
