Council Taps Fritsche’s Leadership and Expertise With Security in Payments Industry

Westminster, CO – April 6, 2016 – Coalfire, a leader in cybersecurity risk management and compliance services, today announced that Dan Fritsche, vice president of solution architecture, was selected by the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) as the Vice Chair of the ETA Risk, Fraud & Security Council for 2016. Through his work at Coalfire, Fritsche is responsible for overseeing application security, virtualization and cloud technologies, healthcare solutions, software development (SDLC) training, mobile, EMV, point-to-point encryption (P2PE) and many other emerging technologies that cross various industries.

ETA is a hub of the payments technology industry with 18 committees and councils. Within these larger entities, smaller working groups are often established to deal with specific matters and target the development of content, or a formal response to an industry challenge or opportunity. In recent years, as the payments industry has evolved, ETA has proactively established new committees to engage industry entrants, and constantly looks for new market and partnership opportunities for members.

“ETA is proud to welcome Dan to help lead our Risk, Fraud & Security Council during the 2016 year,” said Jason Oxman, CEO, ETA. “Through his work with Coalfire, and over the course of his long-withstanding career, Dan has demonstrated superior knowledge in the field of payment security and is poised to execute strategic thought-leadership and guidance during this time of momentous change in payments technology.”

Serving as ETA’s 2016 Vice Chair, Fritsche will work with its councils and committees to formulate strategies, provide leadership and develop products and services to help achieve ETA’s annual strategic goals and priorities. With a wide range of experience in the network security space, Fritsche works with various large payment technology providers and merchants to help ensure their software and security solutions are compliant with various standards along with PA-DSS and P2PE requirements.

“Over the course of my nearly 18-year career in IT security, I’ve always strived to continually evolve my outlook on the market and lead by example,” said Fritsche. “I’m honored to be selected by ETA as its 2016 Vice Chair of the Risk, Fraud & Security Council as it will enable me to further guide security professionals with the most up-to-date best practices and effective risk mitigation strategies.”
