FedRAMP 20x Phase Two Launches hosted by ADI: A New Chapter in Federal Cloud Modernization

Today, the Alliance for Digital Innovation (ADI) and The FedRAMP PMO have teamed up to announce the launch of FedRAMP 20x Phase Two, marking an important milestone in the evolution of federal cloud security.

As one of the nation’s leading FedRAMP 3PAOs and trusted cloud advisors, Coalfire is proud to support this modernization effort—helping agencies and cloud service providers (CSPs) navigate the new landscape with speed, confidence, and security.

Why FedRAMP 20x Phase Two Matters

Building on the groundwork of Phase One, this next stage of FedRAMP 20x introduces key advancements designed to streamline the compliance process, broaden availability, and accelerate adoption of secure cloud technologies across government.

Highlights of Phase Two include:

  • Accelerated authorizations to shorten the path to market for cloud providers.
  • Automation-first processes that reduce manual effort and repetitive testing.
  • Greater transparency for CSPs and agencies, ensuring clarity in requirements.
  • Broader adoption pathways to open the door for innovation in federal IT.

Limited Initial Participation only 10 qualifying participants from the 20x low pilot will be selected

Key Dates of Phase Two:

From October 16th to October 23rd, FedRAMP will complete all Phase Two requirements and formally open the submission window.

Dec 16, 2025: Phase Two submission window closes.

The result: federal agencies can access modern cloud solutions faster, while CSPs can reduce costs and time-to-revenue.

Coalfire’s Perspective

Coalfire has been at the center of FedRAMP since its inception, working with hundreds of CSPs to achieve and maintain compliance.

“FedRAMP 20x represents the single biggest transformation of cloud authorization in the last decade. But it won't succeed without partnership, automation, and a shared commitment to real-time, risk-driven security.
